Deer's Journey rework released

We are pleased to announce that the major rework of Deer's Journey has now been released to our Web App, Telegram and Discord bots. This update adds 5 times the content over the original version, making it by far our largest game, at over 180,000 words! For comparison, this is just shy of the modern classic 'Dune', and although we can't guarantee it's written quite as well, we can say there is definitely more furry lewdness involved.

This update brings large improvements, including a host of new characters to meet, an expanded story, a more branching adventure, various new achievements, a map system to help navigate the open world, and many hidden areas and interactions to explore. Your previous saves for Deer's Journey may still work, but we strongly recommend starting again.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've been developing this update. We hope you enjoy playing it!

Keep up to date with future developments and what we are planning next via our Patreon, Twitter, Telegram and Discord announcement channels. You can find the links to all of these on our website: https://furrytextadventures.com/

Is it possible to complete the druids of the sun saga without them succumbing to the evil? The medallion I get from the plains of pleasure seems significant, but the artifact lizard doesn't have anything to say about it, and the druids don't say anything except that it is dangerous.

I was thinking the strength powder might be useful in the scenario, but it doesn't seem to add any branches to the choice tree.

Also, I can't seem to find out who the raccoon is meant to be used on.

I have interreacted with everyone, and gone to him, and nothing.

Lastly, The achievements suggest that there is a way for the dragon and bunny to save your village, but I have not been able to unlock those endings. The bunny is inaccessible once you get the ingredients for the potion, and there don't seem to be any dialogue options with the dragon to request help (If you go to the druids without being a virgin, you can suggest the dragons aid, but the chieftain turns that Idea down.)

Hello! Thanks for the feedback!

It's not possible to complete the druids without them succumbing to the evil, although there are two distinct endings, if you managed to get to them and remain a virgin. This ties into the medallion as well. The medallion also allows you to enter any level of the plane of pleasure at will once in there.

I think you're right, the lizard should have some dialogue if you present her the medallion, that makes a lot of sense. I'll look to add that in.

Enlisting the raccoons help ties in with the visit to the dragon in his cave. If you explore the dragons cave, you should find something the raccoon can help you with later on.

There are a few different things going on with the dragon endings. I believe either leaving him trapped in the ravine, or returning after trapping him and setting him free are the 2 main ones, if I recall correctly. As for the bunny, I think you might be slightly mixing up the mouse with the bunny - the achievement 'Buns Hon' is for choosing the bunny druid when given the option of which one you'd like to claim. The 'A Rodent's Deal' achievement is for gathering all his leaves, letting him ensnare you, then at the end of the game choosing the 'You know a powerful alchemist' option.

If you want any other info, just ask! We love getting feedback from players :)

Thank you for the prompt response. You have a good game going. I spent a good day and a half mapping it all out, and even more trying to find all the secrets.

I really liked the three headed dragon concept. I came to see him as the main boss though. It is a shame there is no way to get the better of him. I was convinced that there would be a way to learn more about him by having the raccoon spy on him, or tinker with the medallion at the temple, or bless it with the rabbit alchemist/goat wizard to somehow trap or depower him at the final event. I also considered that you may have gone the "Undertale" route and allowed you to out evil the great evil.

Thanks for telling me about the raccoon. When I found out that I could complete the plain of pleasure without loosing my virginity, I figured that perhaps there was a way to do everything else without loosing my virginity as well, and that obtaining certain items with my purity in tact was the key to winning. For instance, have the racoon steal the artifact from the cottage, or take the ring from the dragon.

I really appreciate you giving answers. Some of these were starting to drive me mad. I must have spent 5 hours wondering around that little peninsula of safe grasslands just to the south-west of the dragon's ravine. The A-symmetry of it seemed significant.

I have to know, Is there anything more for the armadillo that gets woken up, and disappears?  What about the dog?

When you become chieftain in the plain of pleasure, I thought that claiming the males meant you claimed the chieftain, but that was not the case, and there was no option to take him. Am I missing something?

Ah yeah, the three headed beast and the overarching evil was more of a setup for future development on the game, so there is something to get into rather than just a hard ending. We could probably make that a bit more obvious in some ways, so it's clear there isn't much else to do with that at the moment.

Haha sorry you spend so long searching the grasslands! It is the curse of these open-world text games. It was meant to be somewhat reminisint of the old school adventure games, like kings quest. But with that comes the frustrating bits as well, like trying to figure out if you've gone everywhere you need to go.

There is no more to the armadillo or the dog, unfortunately. Not yet anyway, those are just little extra things we sprinkle in to fill up the space.

In the third level of the plain of pleasure, there is a set sequence of things you must do with the males, in order to keep them in line and not let it devolve into a mad orgy. If you figure that out, you should have the option to claim the chieftain.

Makes sense. Thanks.

I wanted to share some Ideas that I had that I thought you may like.

Scenario1: (Play dice with the bison too many times, and become permanently stuck with a pussy for the rest of the game. [secret ending with bison-deer baby] Allow players to cheat at dice. Tie results in perma gender swap for both, virginity preserved though.)

Scenario2:(More things for the raccoon to do: Spy on great evil to gain info, Steal artifact from cottage as part of a completionist virgin run, steal from the alchemist to learn how to make the sleeping draft/ mind control potion to use evil, or henchmen[perhaps a truth potion to use on that gazelle, or water dragon in the plane of pleasure.] The many treasures you encounter could also be used on the raccoon in exchange for his services.)

Scenario3:(Bug the wizard too much and he turns you into a feral. Lasts 30 moves, and provides unique encounter opportunities, and stealth operations. No one suspects the feral!)

Scenario4:(The ground seed also functions as a Viagra. Accidentally give it to the dragon during an encounter, and get stuck. Have to go on hilarious side quest to fix it.)

Scenario5:(on the 3rd level of the temple of pleasure, avoid sex in the scenario 3 times, and anger the 3 headed dragon into giving away his plans, or have something happen with the amulet that makes him react.)

Scenario6:(Each map tile has a direction to go, and another tile that is associated with that direction. It would be interesting to have duplicate tiles that lead to secret places. For instance. Start at the temple, go north, hit regular tile. Go West, North, East, land on tile that going South leads to the temple, but going north leads to secret encounter [traveler with unique artifact item, or perhaps mill-wife's husband, opportunity to tell about artifact, and enact revenge on wife, perhaps learn how to use artifact.])

I like those ideas! Scenario 4 and 5 I especially like. You have started to make me think it might be more worthwhile to add more interactions, more scenes, more interwoven details, rather than expanding the world out into a new location as was currently planned for the future of Deer's Journey. I shall have to have a think on this.

It's a good story, I just wish I could solve any of the puzzles

Thanks for the kind words! And if you need any help with any of the puzzles, do feel free to ask us :)

Just the "Move with wind "puzzle

Ah, there is a badger around in the north-west side of the map who may give you the answer to that!

(+1)

Any tips on where I can get an artifact to distract the lizard at the temple?

I'd explore around the lake, there is an Otter around that might help you out :)

Thanks!
